When to Choose PTFE
Choose PTFE for the most aggressive chemicals or for high-purity service. It is not elastomeric and can cold-flow under constant load, so for flexible or vibration sealing choose an elastomer such as Viton or EPDM.

What is PTFE (Teflon) gasket material?
PTFE is a rigid fluoropolymer that is chemically inert to nearly every substance, non-stick, and stable across an extremely wide temperature range — ideal for corrosive and high-purity service.
What is the downside of PTFE gaskets?
PTFE can cold-flow (creep) under sustained bolt load and is not elastic. For flexible or vibration-damping seals, choose an elastomer such as Viton or EPDM.
What temperature range do PTFE gaskets handle?
Our virgin PTFE gaskets are rated from about −350°F to 500°F.
What is the difference between virgin PTFE and expanded PTFE (ePTFE) gasket sheet?
Virgin PTFE is solid, rigid sheet — excellent chemical resistance but it can cold-flow under load. Expanded PTFE (ePTFE) is a soft, compressible, multidirectionally-expanded form that conforms better to rough flanges. We cut virgin PTFE.

How to measure
- Measure the outside size — diameter for rounds, or length × width for rectangles and squares.
- Measure the inside opening and any holes (ID, bolt holes, bolt circle if it is a flange).
